Courtney Bourns's Presentation

Philanthropy New Zealand and OCVS hosted Courtney Bourns, Director of Programs for Grantmakers for Effective Oganisations (GEO), at several funders forums around New Zealand in June/July 08.

The focus of the forums was to hear about the GEO’s Change Agent Project and its findings of how grantmakers can be more responsive to grantseekers. 

Recognising that grantmakers are only as effective as their grantees, the goal of the Change Agent Project is to catalyse significant , measurable change in the field of philanthropy. They discovered that grantmakers go a long way toward maximising their support of not for profits by spending more time and attention listening to and learning from the organisations they support.

GEO is highly regarded for its action learning approach, leadership development and commitment to supporting not for profits to be effective organisations.
