About Philanthropy Matters
Philanthropy Matters is the inaugural combined conference of Philanthropy New Zealand and the New Zealand Community Trusts.
Philanthropy
Matters presents an exciting opportunity to advance the discussion
about the relationship between philanthropic giving and grantmaking in
New Zealand, to assess options for the future strategic direction of
New Zealand philanthropy and to better appreciate the value of
philanthropy and grantmaking to New Zealand society.
It also
provides excellent opportunities for you to develop creative ideas
about your own philanthropy and giving. It is a time to celebrate and
recognise the huge investment that New Zealanders make in the social
capital of our country through acts of philanthropy. Experienced local
and international guests are presenting a range of attractive,
interactive workshops and we are pleased to welcome some of the world’s
foremost philanthropic thinkers to present keynote discussions.
The
conference whakatauaki, oha atu, oha mai, is a special reminder that
philanthropy is not just about money, and is not just for the wealthy.
Oha atu, oha mai tells us that philanthropy goes to the heart of our
civil society through generosity, reciprocity and mutual cooperation.
