Public policy

As the peak body for philanthropists and grantmakers in Aotearoa New Zealand, we are in a unique position to lead debate and focus attention on exemplary philanthropic practice.

Philanthropy New Zealand builds awareness of the issues facing our members - through regular meetings with community leaders, with the business community and with members of parliament and other political leaders. We develop relationships around philanthropy, undertaking to broaden understanding of philanthropy.

We also take a leading role to advocate on not-for-profit and philanthropy issues. This at a time of rapid change and emerging challenges in New Zealand and across the world.

Philanthropy New Zealand is a supporting member of the of the collaborative project ComVOiceS. An independent coalition of Tangata Whenua and leading community and voluntary organisations it is set up to promote and make visible the enormous contribution of the whole voluntary sector to our society.
